first off. thank alla yinz for making WRKFEST the most unbelievable party we ever threw, as well as was ever thrown!! but for real. we got so wrapped up in that joint, we forgot about this incredible lookbook shot by the super talented hard WRKR : SEAN HAMILTON (Forty/Sixty Photography). Featuring old friend and partner in punk adolescence : MISS ANTIETAM ! check their WRK out cuz they are definitely WRKRs ..100% AMERICAN MADE.  we have almost full size runs of everything else.. but .. we do WRK at a print shop by day.. so we can fill orders pretty rapidly! available 12 - 8 Monday - Friday at the Boot Prints Crew HQ ! thanks again! WRK FEST 12 starring artist: Danny Devine

Danny Devine

Lately Mr.Devine has transferred his work from the streets to galleries; and now hanging in living rooms. Danny's graff career ran from the early 90's to mid 2000's; known for having very unique script letters. This style set him apart from other Pittsburgh street artists. He has also done some mural art wrk for the city of Pittsburgh, PA. Recently Devine is showing his DRAW 365 project at Gallery 4 in the East End; which consist of Mr. Devine's  masterpieces for every day of one whole year... Not only is Danny Devine a well talented artist but he is also good friends with the Wrk Clothes crew. Joe Boots and Danny Devine used to run together in a few street crews in the late 90's early 00's and ever since the two have been crossing paths! This is just another one of those awesome instances

WRK FEST 12 starring DeeJay: Dj Drastik

DJ Drastik

Started Djing back in 1996; ever since then its been classic after classic. In 2001 Dj Drastik teamed up with Adolf Thieves to drop Big Names Big Faces; THE Biggie, Big Pun and Big L mixtape! Last year Drastik dropped Back to Reality which featured Pittsburgh locals Beedie, B. White, Franchise, Ghosty, Shad Black & MORE . It's not just Djing, Drastik Also runs a boutique called Soul II Sole which is located on the very popular East Carson St on the South Side of town. So whether it's mixing on wheels or cooking up some designs for the boutique. Dj Drastik is a flavorful diligent creative thinker! 

DJ Drastik will be spinning a set and then spinning for The Varsity Squad's set! This man is an animal on the wheels so make sure to check him out at WRKFEST'12!!!

WRK FEST 12 starring artist: Uncle Arlo

 He can help you build a store front or help you frame some quality art work. He has helped with the construction of two local shops Boot Prints and Blasfome. He has been painting for over a decade perfecting his craft and there are three things you can be sure of when you see Uncle Arlo.. 
1. He will have Red Cup with his signature "Arlo Palmer" for you!
2. He will be excited as heck to see you!
3. He will greet you with a patented Uncle Bear Hug!


This dude is a super hard WRKr, he lives by the motto "go big or go home" and he doesn't go home often. He drives an Acadamy Van and has been shot at as if hes doing a tour in Iraq, so ya know he's fearless. 


Arlo's done paintings for countless companies, bars, celebrities and Pittsburgh ne'er-do-wells alike. And we are proud to have him as a featured artist of WRKFEST'12!! thanks Unc! Hes been puttin in EXTRA WRK painting like a mad man to get ready for WRKFEST'12 so i hope yinz are ready! this dude is sick!

WRK CLOTHES premiering at HEART ATTACK FASHION SHOW

 

 

Streetheart, a Pittsburgh-based women's streetwear lifestyle brand, seeks to blur the lines between street and high fashion. Our debut collection takes the traditional t-shirt to a new level, with striking graphics and cutting edge silhouettes, and makes old look new with altered, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. 

Come check out our debut collection and party with us and our friends on April 5th at Altar Bar in the Strip. The fashion show will be showcasing Spring 2012  from Streetheart, Timebomb, and WRK Clothes at 10pm sharp. Doors open at 9pm, the show begins at 10pm, and the party goes 'til 2am! STEEL WHEELS: PITTSBURGH HIP HOP FOR CEREBRAL PALSY!

HEY PITTSBURGH! hope yinz all plan on makin it out to this event for a great cause! If you been livin under a rock, I'll putchyinz D.  Ramon Luis Silva Jr. aka @DaKidInWheels is a die-hard Pittsburgh Hip-Hop fan and if you haven't guessed, is in a wheelchair and lives with the disability Cerebral Palsy. But this hasn't slowed Da Kid down a bit. I reached out to him to get a few words about CP and how having the disability has affected his life. Take a read . Mad uplifiting! This is a good dude and true believer of the PGH HIP HOP SCENE. (not to mention a huge B White fan!)

"Cerebral Palsy is a disability that never held me down. Even though I wasn't born with CP, i never let the fact of having it get in the way of what I wanted to do with my life. It was a medical accident that happen at my birth. But cp never disabled my ability to do normal stuff like play sports, go to prom and attend college.

Pittsburgh Hip Hop means a lot to me because I can relate to most of the mc's like the Come Up ( Vinny radio & Fran), Bwhite, Mayo, and Varsity Squad (Beedie & Jon Quest). The MC I can relate to the most is B. White because many of his struggles he raps about in his songs, I can feel his hunger. Being the best but everyone always doubt him, which is similar to my life because many people doubt me on stuff I wanted to do with my life and now I'm doing big things like B. White is now. Another similarity me and B are very ambitious, we are determined to get what we want & work hard for it. This event is not only about raising money it's a showcase of the music that gets me through my day and my love for Pittsburgh hip hop."

CHICAGO... WRK WRK WRK

So heres a bunch of photos from my trip to Chicago. While i was there I stayed with my great friend ALI! shes TBC so basically shes down for life! We had a great weekend.  But first, there was business to handle. after I arrived and we got our minds right. she went to work and I went to WRK .. I had my Evisu bag so you already know... met up with @_SOOS from THE B.R.E.A.D. SHOP, a really cool lower level barber shop in South Chicago. Not only do they split wigs, they are transforming their space into a streetwear shop / art gallery.  I felt at home at THE B.R.E.A.D. SHOP even though i had never even been to Chicago let alone met the B.R.E.A.D. FAM.  The homie / ex-apprentice BRIAN LONGWILL (who lives in CHI now) linked me with B.R.E.A.D., they had seen his LV design for BOOT PRINTS and were impressed, and placed an order on the spot.  Now I could have just shipped them and paypaled the invoice from them, but I thought in good business form, I would deliver the shirts personally.  Unfortunately I forgot my camera when i went to THE B.R.E.A.D. SHOP so the photos that follow are just out and about in Chicago.  Have no fear though, they were also impressed with the WRK CLOTHES brand in general. I took a few beanies with me and some WRK shirts just to get a read on the Chicago market for em .. and I was pleasantly surprised when every piece i took there SOLD OUT! @_SOOS was pleased and we made plans to have WRK CLOTHES be carried in their shop. The WRKin class aspect of WRK CLOTHES fits right in with Chicago's WRKin class history and attitude.  Very similar to the STEEL CITY! Not only is WRK CLOTHES going to be carried at B.R.E.A.D., they invited the WRK crew to host a POP UP SHOP at the B.R.E.A.D. SHOP in the early summer (dates T.BA.) so all of our CHI FAM be ready for that! WRK BOYS COMIN THROUGH!
