STEEL WHEELS: PITTSBURGH HIP HOP FOR CEREBRAL PALSY!

HEY PITTSBURGH! hope yinz all plan on makin it out to this event for a great cause! If you been livin under a rock, I'll putchyinz D.  Ramon Luis Silva Jr. aka @DaKidInWheels is a die-hard Pittsburgh Hip-Hop fan and if you haven't guessed, is in a wheelchair and lives with the disability Cerebral Palsy. But this hasn't slowed Da Kid down a bit. I reached out to him to get a few words about CP and how having the disability has affected his life. Take a read . Mad uplifiting! This is a good dude and true believer of the PGH HIP HOP SCENE. (not to mention a huge B White fan!)

"Cerebral Palsy is a disability that never held me down. Even though I wasn't born with CP, i never let the fact of having it get in the way of what I wanted to do with my life. It was a medical accident that happen at my birth. But cp never disabled my ability to do normal stuff like play sports, go to prom and attend college.

Pittsburgh Hip Hop means a lot to me because I can relate to most of the mc's like the Come Up ( Vinny radio & Fran), Bwhite, Mayo, and Varsity Squad (Beedie & Jon Quest). The MC I can relate to the most is B. White because many of his struggles he raps about in his songs, I can feel his hunger. Being the best but everyone always doubt him, which is similar to my life because many people doubt me on stuff I wanted to do with my life and now I'm doing big things like B. White is now. Another similarity me and B are very ambitious, we are determined to get what we want & work hard for it. This event is not only about raising money it's a showcase of the music that gets me through my day and my love for Pittsburgh hip hop."

BPC got so much love for the 58s and for B WHITE ! I've been reppin B. White since BEFORE "Mon Valley Miracle" . I knew this dude was the most monstrous lyrical animal in the whole city, and that holds true today! From his delivery and tone to his rhymes and structure, HE SPITS THAT REAL. Period. Not to mention he filmed him and MAYO filmed their video for "MONEY" at the BPC shop on the roof. 

AND IM SURE IF YOU'VE DRIVEN ON RT. 51 IN CARRICK IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS .. YOU'VE SEEN THE 58s BURNER ON THE ROOFTOP THAT WAS PAINTED FOR THE VIDEO ..

KID A : PERFORMING at the WRK CLOTHES POP UP SHOP OCT 8TH

Kid A is a name you may not be familiar with.... but its a name you should add to your memory bank. This emcee is creative, lyrical and positive minded. He's a hard WRKR , so off top you know we had to throw him on a show. This mixtape BLUNT GUTS AND GLORY has been in the WRKs for a while , but well worth the wait. track 5, 6, and 12 are my personal favorites, but the album is definately one you can play the whole way! so check out his tracks , and come watch him perform this saturday (October 8th) at the BLASFOME STORE in southside pgh, 1923 E. Carson Street Pgh, PA 15203 .. performances and drinks start at 5 pm . !

So B.White's #TheEvidence album release was yesterday! and that was awesome, we literally banged it for 10 hours straight at the #BPC shop. and we have been patiently waiting for the first video from the album "THE MONEY" and today is the day . below the video and dat piff link on this page is a REPOST of the blog for the sneak peek of that video shoot, which was held at the BPC shop .

When Mayo came to scoop up the shirts he mentioned shooting part of the new B.White video at the shop. We set the date for Saturday and I mentioned to Mayo maybe having me painting in the background. He was all for it. My work has made commercials, fliers and even the news a few times but one thing I have always wanted to do was paint something for a hip-hop video. Saturday came so I grabbed some paint and a few ice cold Mickeys 40z and this is what went down...

Two 40z and a few blunts later. Shout outs to Mayo, B. White, Bubz, Espo from Shorthand Films, Boots, Brian, Sarah and Stuey for coming through and making the shoot a success.
